BESPOKE TAILORING

The bespoke tailoring process is meticulous and starts with Peter taking time to learn more about each clients requirements – the tailoring you would like to have made, is it for special occasion? is it for a warmer or cooler climate? He will then carefully guide you through the cloth selection and then take all the necessary measurements.

The measurements and personal figuration is noted from which a personalised paper pattern will be drafted by hand. Once the personalised pattern has been made, it is then laid onto the selected cloth, chalked around and the cloth is then cut by hand, paying particular attention to match checks or stripes.

Garment fitting appointment is to check the fit of the drafted pattern, and to allow Peter to refine the balance and proportion of the garment. Any alterations required to the pattern and tailoring will be noted and any re-cutting required will be instructed. After the fitting alterations are complete the garments are lined and pressed, they are then ready for the final fitting with buttons and buttonholing which are completely hand sewn and hand finished.

The placing of a bespoke tailoring order with Peter Johnston will deliver the client a wholly unique, individual sartorial masterpiece with over 70 hours of manpower poured into every garment.

With prices starting at £4,200 for a fully handmade two piece suit, we are extremely proud of both the exceptional quality and value our tailoring team delivers.

Orders usually require a turnaround time of 8 to 10 weeks after the initial appointment.
